Today was the last day of CUBE! :(
It was fun and FUN!
Haha for all those dumb dumbs out there... CUBE is Challenge for the Urban and Built Environment!
Wahhh soo long name! Lol!
Anw what we did was just walk aroud chinatown and analyse the plots of land. Then, we were given tanjong pagar road to analyse and do something to it. Apparently it was a very small, thin and windy road which only consists of Fairfield Church and a WHOLE row of shophouses. Nice right? And the best thing was we were the youngest as the competition was for JC and poly ppl and like they are 18 and they specialise in geog or architecture in some way or another if not they would not have joined. Like we joined cos we went through IH which was on human geog (how wonderful). So like WOW. Ok we're competing against ppl who are supposed to pwn in this. Never mind we shall pwn them. And hooray. We pwned them, well half pwned them, for the first 2 days. Then today...which is the most important day considering the fact that it was the judging day and final presentation.... we screwwwweeddd! Haha! But nvm! Can say its really last minute work cos we had to change our entire concept the last moment and it was like WOAH we came up with some really whacked idea wayyyy away from the norm and apparently we only knew of the fact that we cannot use this idea due to some laws of conserved buildings only AFTER our presentation. Cool right? Like we thought soooo hard on this new concept then present present then afterwards this judge comes by and say "Cannot happen cos got conserved buildings involved." Hooray! <333
Ah well forget it! What's important is we had fun! :) and we really had fun... I think. Ok what's sure is I had fun! Especially the SWOT thing! Brainstorming the different strength or weakness was damn funny! We started with only 37 ideas at first then other group got 70+ and it was difficult. THEN afterwards we got like 191 ideas in the 3rd round cos they ask threats to chinatown and there were really the weirdest points such as my all-so-awesome pimple outbreak reason :) but it's true! If you got pimple outbreak and everyone got pimple outbreak, they won't wanna go to work which leads to ppl working in chinatown not going to work and chinatown becomes ghost town! ok slippery slope but it COULD happen! ohoh! and the building models was superrrr funny!
I guess maybe cos nj very robot so whatever we thought of was super 2D. Literally. Our model was like paste foam or paper on the tanjong pagar base and it was super funny cos in the end it looked like a pizza. What's funnier? All the other group had 3D models. So one can imagine this:

yes. The flat thing there is our wonderful model. It was FLAT. The rest were popping out but ours was the only extra one bianbian de.. haha!
Oh! I think another funny thing was the ear to ground thing! We had to walk around chinatown then do some activities. So this is how it went:
"Wah tired leh. Walk until super sian"
"Ya lor"
"Siannnnn"
"Ya lor"
"Chinatown got what to see?! Only old houses...."
"Ya lor"
"Why must walkkk..."
"Ya lor... EHHH"
"OMGOMGOMG!!!" "WHAT?!?!?!"
"7-11!!!!"
*Everyone enthusiastically rushes to 7-11 to enjoy aircon and buy drink and food*
Damn cute la! We were dead for the entire journey. The only time we actually came alive was when a 7-11 was in sight. I now appreciate 7-11 for its random locations. You do serve a purpose! Ah whatever! I shall now show you pics! Yay! Our group picture!
